I encourage clients to ask many questions when choosing to work with a Psychotherapist. Here are some answers to the questions I receive the most. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.
WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY DO YOU OFFER ?
My core training is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I also draw on other influences including CBT, Systemics and Mindfulness.
HOW FREQUENTLY ARE THE SESSIONS ?
I offer weekly sessions. They are normally at the same time every week, but I do offer some more flexible plans for shift workers.
There is also some provision for fortnightly therapy for those who cannot commit to weekly appointments.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each session is 50 minutes.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY ?
There is a lot of crossover between the two. Counselling offers a supportive sapce for you to re-establish yourself after an unsettling event. Psychotherapy allows the chance to go a little deeper and consider why you experience life as you do. This understanding can allow both a sense of relief and a greater autonomy in going forwards.
I practice in a quiet, confidential office and offer sessions via telephone, skype or zoom.
It is important that you also find a private space from which to conduct our sessions.
HOURS OF WORK
I have appointments available between 8AM and 6PM weekdays.
I will have some evening availability on Tuesdays starting in July.
