Anxiety in the modern world.
Feelings of anxiety are a natural response to feeling under threat. Our ancestors needed this response to evade predators; however modern society provides a different type of stress. Many of us are familiar with the feelings of dry mouth, sweaty palms and racing heart before giving a presentation. A degree of stress can improve our performance in such instances. But what when the feelings of stress and anxiety become pervasive and start to limit our options? Instead of enhanc
